Role Overview
The Machine Minder is responsible for operating the fillet line according to standard operating procedures, ensuring smooth production cycles and addressing any issues that arise.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 equivalent.
- Certification: N2 Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 1–2 years of proven experience as a machine operator in an FMCG environment.
- Knowledge: Working understanding of high-speed machinery.
- Availability: Willingness to work overtime, shifts, and weekends as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up fillet line (e.g., calibration and cleaning) for production cycles.
- Control and adjust fillet line settings, such as speed.
- Conduct daily visual inspections of machines.
- Address and fix machine issues during shifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of production procedures.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret machine manuals.
- Strong communication skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to perform under pressure.
