Role Overview
The Retail Shop Assistant will be responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, assisting with sales, ensuring effective merchandising, and maintaining accurate stock control within the store. Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales

Assist customers in identifying suitable tools, machinery, and accessories

Provide knowledgeable guidance on features, usage, and product specifications

Maintain a friendly, professional, and helpful approach in all interactions

Support sales efforts through excellent service, product knowledge, and responsiveness
Merchandising & Store Presentation

Display products neatly and in line with store standards

Ensure shelves are properly stocked, labelled, and organised

Assist with promotional setups and seasonal product arrangements

Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the sales floor
Stock Control & Branch Procedures

Participate in regular stock takes and maintain accurate stock counts

Assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing inventory

Monitor stock levels and report shortages, breakages, or discrepancies

Follow internal branch procedures to ensure smooth daily operations
Minimum Requirements
Essential

Senior Certificate (Grade 12)

Strong interest in tools, machinery, DIY, or hardware

Reliable, honest, and able to work effectively within a team

Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers
