Job Overview
Brights Hardware is looking for a Sales Assistant for their Electrical Department in Mitchells Plain. The role involves assisting customers, advising on the best products, ensuring excellent customer service, and increasing sales. Key Responsibilities
✔ Customer Assistance – Help customers choose the best products for their needs.
✔ Sales Growth – Generate sales and ensure customer satisfaction through great service.
✔ Stock Control – Manage stock levels, conduct regular stock counts, and report shortages.
✔ Product Advice – Recommend products to solve customers’ electrical issues.
✔ Stock Orders – Place orders with buyers when necessary.
✔ Administrative Tasks – Maintain customer records, process special orders, and handle invoices.
✔ Merchandising – Ensure correct pricing and proper product displays.
✔ Stocktakes – Participate in perpetual stocktaking to keep inventory accurate.
✔ Housekeeping – Keep the work area clean and organized.
✔ Other Duties – Perform any additional tasks assigned by management.
Job Requirements
✅ Education & Experience:
✔ Matric OR 3 completed Intercept Courses (totaling 120 credits).
✔ Minimum 2 years experience in a Hardware retail environment.
✔ Basic electrical product knowledge – At least 2 years of experience working with electrical products.
✔ Brights Induction (Service Excellence) completed.
✔ 2 x Department Product Knowledge Certificates.
✅ Skills & Competencies:
✔ Sales Ability – Natural flair for selling and upselling.
✔ Customer Service Skills – Ability to engage and assist customers professionally.
✔ Communication Skills – Strong verbal and written communication.
✔ Organizational Skills – Efficient in admin tasks and record-keeping.
✔ Attention to Detail – Ensure pricing accuracy and proper merchandising.
