Position Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Delmas is offering a permanent opportunity for a CJM Driver to join the CJ Distribution Team. The role focuses on the safe transportation of company stock, equipment, and materials, while supporting warehouse, dispatch, and customer service operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for deliveries, vehicle care, stock handling, and maintaining high service standards across internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Collection

  • Safely transport company products to designated locations in a timely manner
  • Ensure correct items are delivered within specified delivery timeframes
  • Use the shortest and most effective delivery routes
  • Return promptly after deliveries to maximise vehicle utilisation
  • Ensure all delivery documentation is accurately completed and signed
  • Maintain and update vehicle logbooks
  • Take full accountability for stock, damages, or losses during transit

Vehicle Maintenance

  • Keep delivery vehicles clean inside and outside
  • Never leave company vehicles unattended during deliveries or collections
  • Conduct vehicle inspections before, during, and after trips
  • Report mechanical faults, incidents, or accidents to management immediately
  • Adhere strictly to South African road traffic laws
  • Take responsibility for traffic fines incurred while driving company vehicles

Customer Service

  • Maintain professional relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Deliver courteous, prompt, and professional service at all times
  • Report customer or supplier complaints and provide feedback to management

Sales Operations & Warehouse Support

  • Assist with picking, counting, packing, boxing, and wrapping stock
  • Support labelling and dispatch of promotional materials
  • Assist with stock takes and warehouse cleanliness
  • Clean and inspect pool vehicles (washing, vacuuming, checking oil and water levels)

Minimum Requirements

Essential

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • Valid South African driver’s licence
  • 2–3 years’ experience as a company driver
  • Good knowledge of South African road traffic rules
  • Physically fit and able to assist with loading and offloading
