Position Overview

Motus Autoworx is seeking a Specialist Panel Beater to repair and restore accident-damaged vehicles to manufacturer standards. The role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency in the workshop.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on panel beating experience, a strong technical background, and a commitment to achieving operational and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicles booked in for repairs and confirm the scope of work against quotations
  • Strip vehicles and accurately assess damage
  • Shape, straighten, and repair metal panels using hand tools and equipment
  • Remove dents, repair panels, and restore vehicles to original specifications
  • Sand and prepare surfaces for painting, and perform welding, soldering, and other repair tasks
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
  • Ensure tools and equipment are correctly logged and stored at the end of each day
  • Support branch service targets, turnaround times, and quality standards
  • Comply with all workshop health, safety, and environmental regulations

Minimum Requirements

Essential

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • Technical Qualification: B A Journeyman / Journeyman
  • Minimum 2 years’ panel beating / accident repair experience
  • Valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver’s license (minimum 2 years)
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Strong command of English (verbal and written)

Advantageous

  • Experience in premium or fleet vehicle accident repair
  • Familiarity with workshop management systems or software
