Position Overview

Fidelity Services Group is seeking a highly skilled Design Draughtsman / Estimator to join the Fidelity Fire Solutions team. This role supports project and implementation teams by preparing detailed site designs, technical drawings, and accurate cost estimates for turnkey sprinkler suppression systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fire systems design, strong technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively on complex building services projects.

Key Responsibilities

Draughtsman Function:

  • Design and draw Sprinklers, control valves, smoke extract, fire storage, pumping systems, and related fire mechanical systems
  • Prepare cutting lists and electronic filing of drawings according to procedure
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams on multi-disciplinary engineering projects
  • Resolve coordination issues for complex layouts
  • Produce plot checks and design layouts for engineers
  • Apply local and international CAD standards and draughting best practices
  • Understand on-site equipment and installation methods
  • Work with 3D draughting software (AutoCAD, Revit – advanced)
  • Willingness to travel as required

Estimator Function:

  • Prepare accurate project estimates by reviewing proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
  • Calculate labour, material, and time requirements for projects
  • Analyze discrepancies and assemble numerical and descriptive cost information
  • Maintain cost databases and support sales team with project costings
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary project efforts to ensure planned vs actual costs are tracked
  • Perform basic fire design assistance as required

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years’ sprinkler design experience
  • Proficient in 3D draughting software such as AutoCAD and Revit (advanced)
  • 3 years’ experience in a CAD office environment within building services
  • In-depth knowledge of CAD standards, local and international draughting practices
  • Understanding of on-site equipment and installation methods
  • ASIB accredited designer or good understanding of ASIB requirements
