Position Overview

Clinix Health Group is recruiting two (2) Case Managers to be based at Clinix Naledi Nkanyezi Private Hospital in Sebokeng. Reporting to the Patient Services Manager, the Case Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing hospital-level case management activities.

This role combines clinical expertise and financial risk management, ensuring accurate clinical coding, effective funder communication, and timely billing to support optimal reimbursement and patient care outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

Case Management & Clinical Coding

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute case management processes at hospital level
  • Perform accurate diagnostic and procedural coding in line with CHG standards
  • Apply IDC and CPT coding accurately and consistently
  • Ensure complete and compliant coding of all patient records
  • Maintain patients’ clinical status records throughout hospitalisation

Funder Liaison & Financial Risk Management

  • Liaise with reception for patient authorisations
  • Communicate timeously with Funders (Medical Aids, COID, Government, RAF, DOL, etc.)
  • Provide clinical information to update Length of Stay, Level of Care, formulary use, assistive devices, diagnostics, and interventions
  • Ensure correct categorisation and management of patient accounts for reimbursement
  • Finalise cases accurately and timeously to facilitate payment
  • Minimise financial risk through effective management of patient hospitalisation
  • Follow approved escalation processes for declined funder payments

Clinical Collaboration & Compliance

  • Consult daily with healthcare providers regarding patient treatment plans
  • Ensure compliance with case management procedures, standards, and protocols
  • Maintain group and facility targets for WIP (Work in Progress) and DNYB (Discharged Not Yet Billed) within 3 days

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in General Nursing
  • Advanced Certification in Intermediate Coding
  • Proven competence in IDC and CPT coding
  • 3–5 years’ experience as a Hospital Case Manager
  • Strong understanding of hospital billing and reimbursement processes
