Position Overview
HomeChoice is currently recruiting a Showroom Manager for its Westgate Regional Shopping Centre showroom in Johannesburg.
This leadership role is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the retail showroom, ensuring sales targets are achieved while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
The successful candidate will lead a team of retail sales professionals, manage store operations, ensure effective stock control, and drive business performance. Key Responsibilities
Retail Sales and Operational Management
- Oversee daily showroom operations to ensure efficiency and productivity
- Drive the achievement of monthly intake and Net Sales Value (NSV) targets
- Monitor store performance and implement strategies to increase revenue
- Ensure operational processes align with company standards
Customer Experience Management
- Deliver an exceptional customer service experience at every touchpoint
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
- Promote a customer-centric culture within the store
Stock and Inventory Control
- Manage stock levels and inventory control procedures
- Ensure proper visual merchandising and product displays
- Monitor and reduce goods returns (GRs) and order cancellations
- Maintain an organized and efficient stockroom operation
Promotions and Visual Merchandising
- Implement monthly promotional campaigns and visual merchandising displays
- Ensure product presentations align with brand standards
- Coordinate promotional activities that drive showroom foot traffic and sales
Cash and Financial Management
- Oversee cash handling processes and ensure financial accuracy
- Maintain accountability for all store financial transactions
- Ensure compliance with company financial procedures
People and Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and motivate store staff and category specialists
- Provide training and development opportunities to improve team performance
- Create a positive and collaborative work environment
Store Security and Safety
- Ensure the security of store assets and inventory
- Maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers
Reporting and Administration
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports
- Track operational performance metrics and identify improvement areas
- Support business decision-making with accurate reporting
Project Management
- Lead and implement store improvement initiatives and operational projects
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and business growth
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this Retail Store Manager job in Johannesburg, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Sales & Marketing
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the retail industry
- At least 5 years’ experience leading a team in a sales target-driven environment
- Experience in the homeware retail industry will be highly advantageous
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Clear criminal and credit record
