Rhodes University is seeking an experienced Manager: Student Bureau to join the Registrar’s Division.
The successful candidate will oversee key administrative functions related to student admissions, residence allocations, graduation processes, and general student administration. The role also manages the Student Bureau, Data Processing Unit, and Undergraduate Financial Aid Office.
🎯 Main Responsibilities
🏫 Student Administration Management
- Oversee admissions and residence allocations
- Manage graduation processes and records
- Ensure effective student administration services across the university
👥 Team & Department Management
- Manage staff within the Student Bureau, Data Processing Unit, and Financial Aid Office
- Provide leadership and supervision to administrative teams
- Ensure operational efficiency and service delivery
📊 Systems & Data Management
- Manage computerized systems and student databases
- Analyse data to improve administrative processes
- Implement technology-enabled administrative systems
💰 Budget & Operational Oversight
- Manage departmental budgets
- Develop and maintain efficient administrative processes
🎓 Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in a relevant field
- Approximately 6 years relevant experience, including:
✔ Experience in administration within higher education
✔ Experience working with university students
✔ Experience designing efficient administrative processes
✔ Experience working with computerised systems and data analysis
✔ Supervisory or management experience
✔ Experience managing budgets
💰 Salary & Benefits
- Basic Pensionable Salary: R849,546 per year
- Cost to Company: Approximately R1,098,433 per year
This is a senior management-level role within the university administration.
