Position Overview
TWK Agri is currently recruiting a Financial Manager to join the Timber Division in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.
This strategic leadership role oversees financial planning, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and cost management to ensure the financial health and operational efficiency of the division. The Financial Manager will work closely with senior leadership to provide financial insights, forecasting, and strategic recommendations that support business growth.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Conduct financial modelling and analysis to evaluate business opportunities and risks.
- Prepare and present financial forecasts and strategic reports to senior management.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist the Finance Executive in leading the annual budgeting process.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis with actionable insights.
- Revise forecasts to reflect changes in operational and market conditions.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee consolidation of financial reports across multiple business units.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, statutory reporting requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Manage cash flow to maintain adequate liquidity for operational requirements.
- Develop cash flow forecasts and improve working capital efficiency.
- Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory levels.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Design and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
Capital Investment & Pricing Strategy
- Manage capital expenditure projects aligned with strategic goals.
- Monitor return on investment (ROI) for major projects.
- Develop and optimise pricing strategies to ensure profitability and market competitiveness.
Production Cost Monitoring
- Analyse production costs and identify trends or inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with operational teams to implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Provide reports on production cost performance and recommend adjustments.
Process Optimisation
- Review financial processes and implement efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate best practices and innovative solutions.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and mentor the finance team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support staff development.
- Communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Prepare financial presentations for board meetings and senior leadership discussions.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5–7 years’ experience in a financial management role, preferably in a corporate or multi-entity environment.
- 3–5 years’ experience in forestry or agriculture industry.
- Strong understanding of financial management principles, accounting standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, AS400, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modelling.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid Driver’s License (Code 08).
- Willingness to travel between sites, including cross-border travel.
- Valid passport.
Advantageous Qualifications
- Professional certification such as CA(SA) or CIMA.
- Experience in statutory reporting, audit processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Afrikaans.
