Position Overview

TWK Agri is currently recruiting an Internal Audit Quality Team Leader to join the Internal Audit Department within the Finance Division in Pretoria, Gauteng.

This role focuses on delivering independent assurance and consulting services to strengthen the organisation’s control environment. The successful candidate will lead audit assignments, guide the audit team, and contribute to the quality assurance and continuous improvement of internal audit processes.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Audit & Assurance

  • Review business operations across the TWK Group of companies.
  • Conduct risk-based internal audit assignments and provide independent assurance.
  • Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, governance, and risk management processes.

Audit Quality & Compliance

  • Review internal audit procedures and ensure compliance with IIA GIAS standards.
  • Lead and supervise audit teams on allocated assignments.
  • Perform peer reviews of internal audit teams to maintain audit quality standards.
  • Assist in establishing a Quality Improvement Process for the Internal Audit Department.

Data Analytics & Fraud Detection

  • Utilise data analytics tools to support continuous monitoring and reporting.
  • Assist with fraud investigations and risk identification across business units.

IT & Third-Party Oversight

  • Oversee third-party IT service providers and ensure effective monitoring of services.
  • Assess IT-related risks and compliance within the organisation.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the internal audit team.
  • Collaborate with management to improve control frameworks and operational processes.
  • Contribute to strengthening TWK’s corporate governance and compliance culture.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Internal Audit, or a related field.
  • 10 years’ experience in Internal Auditing.
  • Previous in-house internal audit experience.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Passport with willingness to travel.

Advantageous Qualifications

  • Honours Degree in Accounting, Internal Audit, or related field.
  • Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor).
  • Experience with Barn Owl audit software.
  • Expertise in Audit Quality Reviews and risk-based auditing methodologies.
