Position Overview

The General Worker at the Jim Fouche Silo in Frankfort, Free State, is responsible for supporting daily silo operations, including material handling, cleaning, basic maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols. This role ensures smooth loading, unloading, storage, and movement of grain while maintaining a safe and organised work environment.

This position is ideal for candidates seeking entry-level agricultural jobs, farm operations roles, or general worker positions in the grain and agri-processing sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general tidiness and cleaning duties within the silo and surrounding areas
  • Assist in loading and offloading stock, following company policies and procedures
  • Conduct general housekeeping of premises to maintain safety and efficiency
  • Support daily silo operations and assist customers or suppliers as required
  • Perform ADHOC tasks as assigned by supervisors
  • Maintain accurate stock control and support operational processes
  • Comply with safety rules, procedures, and protocols at all times

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / NQF 4
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labour, including work at heights and in confined spaces (with training)
  • Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Previous experience in industrial, agricultural, or construction environments is advantageous
  • Strong awareness of safety protocols and attention to detail
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong service orientation
