Position Overview
Multiform Human Development is currently recruiting an Accounting Clerk / Junior Accountant based in Potchefstroom, North West. This role is ideal for early-career accounting professionals who want to gain hands-on experience within a corporate finance department.
The successful candidate will assist the finance team with financial reporting, invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and accounting administration tasks while ensuring compliance with company procedures and accounting standards.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills in financial accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll coordination, and inventory finance management.
Key Responsibilities
The Accounting Clerk / Junior Accountant will support the finance department with a range of accounting and administrative functions.
Key duties include:
- Processing invoices for all outgoing shipments
- Processing and managing customer credit notes
- Allocating payments to customer accounts
- Resolving customer queries related to invoices and account statements
- Sending customer statements before the due date
- Processing spare parts orders from customers and generating warehouse pick slips
- Creating and sending purchase orders to suppliers for inventory and operational items
- Reviewing and processing employee credit card expense reports
- Capturing and processing employee transactions in Sage accounting software
- Following up on missing invoices or expense receipts from employees
- Submitting payroll deduction information to the Finance Manager
- Ensuring compliance with revenue recognition rules and accounting policies
- Assisting with the annual stock take process
- Supporting senior accountants and finance managers with daily accounting tasks
Minimum Requirements
Candidates interested in this opportunity should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience (including internships or entry-level roles)
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High level of attention to detail and financial accuracy
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Strong communication skills in English and Afrikaans
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills
