The Parts Distribution Centre plays a crucial role in supporting the dealer network and service operations, ensuring efficient parts management and financial oversight.

Position Overview

The Management Accountant – Parts Distribution Centre is responsible for managing the end-to-end financial processes within the Parts Department.

This middle-management role focuses on ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and cost management while supporting the dealership network and aftersales operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with Parts Management, Aftersales teams, and executive leadership to provide financial insights, manage budgets, and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Manage and prepare financial information for the Parts Department
  • Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports for management and executive teams
  • Ensure all reports are submitted according to established timelines and policies
  • Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions

Budgeting & Cost Management

  • Prepare departmental budgets and financial forecasts
  • Analyse budget variances and cost trends
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial efficiency and operational performance

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Implement and monitor internal financial control procedures
  • Ensure financial operations comply with company policies and reporting standards
  • Support external auditors during year-end financial reviews

Operational Support

  • Manage the purchase order process and ensure timely fulfilment
  • Evaluate supplier credit applications
  • Process and manage local and international supplier payments
  • Prepare costing schedules for air and sea freight orders

Administration & Operational Oversight

  • Provide finance support across Parts, Aftersales, and Importer operations
  • Manage parts rebate processes and performance targets
  • Oversee site maintenance operations including cleaners, security staff, and gardeners
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial and operational projects

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance
  • At least 1–3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong experience with financial reporting and data analysis
  • Proven ability to improve processes and optimise supply chain performance

Technical Skills

Successful candidates should demonstrate:

  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong financial reporting and budgeting capabilities
  • Ability to analyse financial and operational data
  • Knowledge of supply chain financial management
