Position Overview

The Financial Executive provides dynamic financial leadership and oversight to Property Management portfolios, ensuring that all financial functions support client expectations, Key Performance Areas (KPAs), and regulatory compliance. This role oversees accounting operations, mentors financial managers, and manages client reporting and portfolio financial performance.


Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

  • Oversee all accounting department functions for Property Management portfolios
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and timely completion of financial reports
  • Manage Trust, suppliers, banking, and internal audit functions servicing Property Management
  • Prepare journal entries, balance accounts, and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist Director with budgets, 1-, 3-, and 5-year financial projections
  • Manage financial income including admin fees, commissions, rental recoveries, and interest earnings
  • Control Balance Sheets, Creditors, Debtors, and allocation of funds
  • Prepare regular management reports for both Broll and client portfolios

ISO & Compliance

  • Support and assess adherence to ISO procedures
  • Ensure accounting functions follow established policies and applicable regulations

Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, train, and mentor accounting staff
  • Conduct performance appraisals and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure the accounting team operates efficiently and effectively

Communication & Coordination

  • Maintain regular communication with other departments to correct or clarify transactions
  • Keep management informed of financial activities, issues, or concerns
  • Support client-specific financial requests and ad hoc projects

Other Duties

  • Stay updated on accounting developments, governmental, and legal requirements
  • Approve payments to service providers and suppliers
  • Sign cheques and authorize EFT transfers per client requirements
  • Maintain secure, organized accounting work areas

Performance Measurements

  • Timely and accurate completion of accounting documents, reports, and filings
  • Accounting errors promptly detected and resolved
  • Compliance with accounting policies and legal requirements
  • Efficient, effective, and coordinated accounting operations
  • Strong communication and productive relationships with management and external contacts
  • Delivery of specialized financial reports to management as required

Qualifications & Experience

  • CA, CFA, or equivalent finance/accounting degree or industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience in Property Management
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts, procedures, practices, and financial reporting
  • Proficiency with relevant computer applications
