Position Overview: Merchandiser Job in Pretoria (Brooklyn)
Dis-Chem is currently hiring a Merchandiser for their Brooklyn store in Pretoria. This opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to start or grow their careers in retail merchandising, FMCG jobs, and store operations roles in South Africa.
The role focuses on maintaining merchandising standards, ensuring product availability, and delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Restock merchandise to ensure shelves are always full
- Ensure correct storage and timely packing of stock from the storeroom
- Monitor product expiry dates and maintain quality standards
- Ensure full product ranges are available on shelves
- Rotate stock using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method
- Report damaged, expired, or low stock items to management
- Assist with stock counts and inventory management
- Maintain clean, organised, and visually appealing displays
- Ensure accurate pricing and labeling of products
- Assist with loading and off-loading of stock
- Provide excellent customer service and product assistance
- Support onboarding and training of new employees
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Up to 6 months’ experience in retail or merchandising roles
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Willingness to work retail hours
Advantageous Experience
- 1+ year experience in retail or FMCG environment
- Knowledge of merchandising standards and planograms
- Product knowledge and category understanding
- Experience analysing stock reports (e.g., ZMORE)
- Ability to communicate in multiple languages
