Position Overview
The Lecturer – Logistics and Supply Chain is responsible for teaching allocated modules, preparing students for assessments, tracking progress, and supporting academic administration. The lecturer will also collaborate with the Central Academic Team to ensure high-quality delivery, student support, and continuous improvement in the teaching-learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Delivery
- Deliver lectures aligned with module-specific outcomes and pacers
- Develop, review, and implement teaching-learning materials
- Engage and prepare students for assessments and exams
- Monitor student engagement and progress; identify at-risk students
Academic Support & Administration
- Update the Learning Management System and provide student feedback
- Assist with student registration, orientation, and administrative processes
- Support Part-Time Lecturers with module delivery requirements
- Track and analyse student results to identify module-specific improvements
Research & Professional Development
- Conduct disciplinary-based research or SOTL research outputs
- Participate in academic professional development interventions to enhance teaching skills and learning outcomes
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
- Honours in Logistics or Supply Chain (NQF Level 8)
- Ability to teach Logistics and Supply Chain modules
Experience:
- 2–3 years lecturing or formal tutoring experience
- 1–3 years industry-specific experience (advantageous)
Key Competencies:
- Knowledge of South African higher education systems and regulatory framework
- Understanding of teaching and learning theory and interventions
- Student support and mentoring skills
- Digital literacy and proficiency with academic platforms
- Adaptability to a dynamic academic environment
- Strong time management, organization, and ability to work under pressure
Working Hours:
- Classes scheduled between 08:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday
