Position Overview
The Financial Manager – Ford & Land Rover Lepas George is responsible for managing the dealership’s finance department, ensuring compliance with sound financial practices, corporate governance, and accurate reporting.
This leadership role supports the Dealer Principal and Financial Executive in achieving financial objectives, identifying operational risks, and driving process improvements while overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and team management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and report financial statements to the Division, Head Office, and auditors (internal and external)
- Compile management accounts, including budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries
- Maintain integrity and reliability of all financial data
- Ensure month-end cut-offs are compliant with company policies
- Oversee reconciliation of all financial records and manage anomalies
- Administer operational costs within budget, identifying areas of risk and improvement
- Supervise cash management and co-sign payments with Dealer Principal according to policy
- Analyze financial information, including profit & loss, cash flows, and daily statements
- Support preparation and filing of statutory, tax, and regulatory reports
- Establish and monitor internal controls, corporate governance, and compliance processes
- Manage supplier and customer relationships, ensuring effective debtor and creditor processes
- Attract, retain, train, and develop finance and administration team members
- Identify opportunities to minimize costs and increase revenue
Minimum Requirements
- BCom degree in Accounting (NQF7+)
- Recognized Management/Leadership Diploma or Certificate advantageous
- 5+ years’ experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in automotive
- Relevant experience in dealership financial operations
- Strong knowledge of accounting, taxation, and financial reporting processes
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
