Position Overview
The Assistant Stock Controller will support the Stock Controller in managing stock-holding and storekeeping operations. This role ensures that stock levels are optimized, goods are accurately received and distributed, and compliance with company policies and procedures is maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Management of Stock Levels
- Take responsibility for stock under control.
- Maintain minimum stock levels to support operations without running out of stock.
- Assist the Store Manager with managing and maintaining optimum stock levels.
Service Level
- Provide support to all departments regarding stock and inventory queries.
- Investigate and resolve stock-related issues promptly.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery logistics.
Compliance
- Conduct work in line with company policies and procedures.
- Assist with stock counts and audits.
- Manage transfer and receipt transactions of fuel and other stock items.
- Audit transfer orders, shipment orders, and GRVs.
Housekeeping
- Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards, including Safety, Environment, and Food Safety protocols.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric certificate.
- Storekeeping/Warehousing qualification.
- At least 5 years’ experience in storekeeping/warehousing and stock management.
- Exposure to Microsoft Navision (NAV) is advantageous.
- Strong administrative and customer service skills.
- High proficiency in MS Excel and general computer literacy.
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English (verbal and written).
