Position Overview
The Grain Grader at VKB Grain Silo in Petrus Steyn is responsible for accurate sampling and grading of grain in line with statutory and company standards. This role ensures compliance with food safety, quality control, and stock management, while supporting the overall operations of the silo.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute grading of grain products according to statutory and company regulations
- Conduct weekly grain stock confirmations and daily grading of incoming/outgoing raw materials
- Ensure equipment is maintained, functional, and calibrated where required
- Report quality discrepancies to senior management
- Provide administrative support for stock control cards, client services, and H&S compliance
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly documentation accurately
- Maintain HACCP file system for food safety implementation
- Uphold Safety Management System compliance according to legislation
- Assist with employee administration including leave and overtime tracking
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF 4
- Grain grading certificate advantageous
- 1–3 years’ experience in grain grading
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office essential, Business Central advantageous)
- Clear criminal record
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
