Position Overview

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) plays a strategic and operational role in delivering end-to-end human resources support across an allocated business portfolio. This includes partnering with leadership teams, implementing HR strategies, managing employee relations, and driving talent and performance initiatives aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

HR Consulting & Employee Support

  • Manage daily HR-related queries and provide expert advice
  • Partner with business leaders to deliver fair and effective HR solutions
  • Enhance employee experience through proactive HR support

Industrial Relations (IR)

  • Handle disciplinary processes in line with company procedures
  • Provide IR guidance and support investigations
  • Represent the organisation at the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA)
  • Ensure fairness and consistency in all IR matters

Performance Management

  • Manage and monitor performance appraisal processes
  • Support managers and employees with performance-related queries
  • Conduct moderation and calibration processes
  • Identify high and low performers and implement development plans

Talent Management

  • Drive talent management strategies and succession planning
  • Consolidate talent maps and development plans
  • Submit learning and development requirements

Rewards & Remuneration

  • Implement and monitor reward and remuneration programmes
  • Support incentive and commission processes

Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll documentation
  • Manage employee benefits and insurance claims
  • Maintain proper HR records and filing systems

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes
  • Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline
  • Facilitate onboarding and induction of new employees

Policy Implementation & HR Projects

  • Roll out HR policies and procedures
  • Train employees on compliance requirements
  • Support HR initiatives and organisational culture projects

Reporting & Analytics

  • Maintain HR reports including vacancies and IR cases
  • Compile monthly and quarterly HR performance reports

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Travel to retail stores to provide HR support
  • Collaborate with Head Office teams on people strategies

Leadership & Culture

  • Act as a culture ambassador aligned with company values
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment
  • Support leadership development and employee engagement

Minimum Requirements

  • HR Diploma or Degree
  • Minimum 3 years’ HR experience
  • Proven experience in Industrial Relations and Recruitment
  • Retail industry experience (advantageous)
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Willingness to travel
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
