Position Overview
The Store Assistant Manager – NARS plays a key leadership role in supporting the Boutique Store Manager to drive retail success, team performance, and brand excellence.
This role combines leadership, sales strategy, operations management, and customer experience, making it ideal for candidates seeking retail management jobs in Cape Town, cosmetics management careers, or luxury retail leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, coach, and motivate a high-performing retail team
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment

Business Development & Sales Growth
- Drive sales performance and achieve retail and CRM targets
- Develop and implement business growth strategies
- Support client retention and customer acquisition initiatives

Boutique Administration & Reporting
- Review category sales and stock reports
- Maintain and update performance and feedback reports
- Provide insights on customer trends and competitor activity
- Support business strategy through reporting and analysis
Client Experience Excellence
- Deliver personalised, luxury customer experiences
- Build long-term relationships with clients
- Resolve customer concerns professionally
- Support omni-channel retail experiences and digital engagement
Brand & Visual Merchandising
- Ensure adherence to NARS Cosmetics visual merchandising standards
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming boutique environment
- Uphold brand grooming and presentation standards
Store Operations & Compliance
- Support daily boutique operations including opening/closing
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Manage stock, inventory accuracy, and loss prevention
- Oversee cash handling and POS procedures
Stock Management
- Maintain optimal stock levels, testers, and samples
- Support stock audits and minimise losses
- Manage seasonal stock planning and new product launches
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in retail and cosmetics
- Beauty or Make-Up certification (advantageous)
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
