Position Overview
The Millwright role is ideal for skilled artisans seeking engineering jobs, millwright vacancies, or industrial maintenance careers in Southern Africa.
You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of grain handling equipment, ensuring efficient plant operations and minimal downtime.
This role requires strong expertise in mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems, making it ideal for technically skilled professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Installation & Maintenance
- Install new grain handling equipment according to specifications
- Perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance
- Conduct scheduled inspections with depot managers
Repairs & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and repair machinery breakdowns
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults
- Ensure quick resolution to minimise downtime
Preventative Maintenance
- Carry out preventative maintenance activities
- Identify potential issues before they become critical
- Support long-term equipment reliability
Operations & Planning
- Assist with material requirements planning
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
Health & Safety Compliance
- Adhere strictly to OHS Act and company safety policies
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Follow all operational procedures and guidelines
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12
- Qualified Millwright (Red Seal)
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Millwright
- 3–5 years’ experience with PLC-controlled machinery and automation systems
- Experience in grain handling or industrial processing environments (advantageous)
Technical Skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of PLC systems and automation
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
- Mechanical fabrication skills (advantageous)

- Excellent problem-solving ability

- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks
