Position Overview: Fuel Station Manager – Vrede

VKB Fuels is seeking a Fuel Station Manager to oversee full operations of its fuel station in Vrede.

This is a senior operational role responsible for managing financial performance, staff supervision, stock control, customer service, and compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can drive performance while ensuring smooth daily operations in a fast-paced fuel retail environment.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Manage financial performance of the fuel station
  • Drive turnover growth and profitability targets
  • Control operational costs and capital efficiency

Operations & Stock Control

  • Manage fuel and deli stock within VKB frameworks
  • Monitor shortages, waste, and expired stock
  • Ensure availability and quality of deli products

Customer Service

  • Deliver excellent customer service standards
  • Resolve customer complaints and escalate issues when necessary
  • Maintain strong customer relationships

Staff & Leadership

  • Develop and manage staff schedules and shift planning
  • Conduct staff meetings and performance reviews
  • Lead, train, and motivate employees

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all legal and company requirements
  • Maintain health, safety, and operational standards
  • Ensure mandatory training is completed

Facility Management

  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards
  • Ensure station and premises are well maintained

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
  • Code EB driver’s licence
  • Minimum 5 years’ management experience in a fuel station environment
  • Experience in fast-food or deli management (advantageous)
  • Strong computer literacy (Intermediate to Advanced)
  • Proven management track record
  • Willingness to work flexible and after-hours shifts
