Position Overview
RCL Foods is looking for a skilled Raw Materials Planner to join its Groceries Division based in Randfontein. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this role plays a critical part in supporting procurement decision-making and ensuring efficient management of raw materials, stock levels, contracts, and supplier relationships.
This position is ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills and experience in supply chain planning, procurement operations, and inventory management within an FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities
Raw Materials & Stock Planning
- Conduct forecast vs usage analysis and update planning reports
- Monitor stock levels daily and maintain 25–30 days stock cover
- Analyse forward requirements and escalate shortages proactively
- Plan and communicate weekly delivery schedules to suppliers
Incoming Raw Materials Management
- Ensure quality control on all incoming materials
- Manage weight deviations, rejections, and supplier communication
- Monitor GRNs, delivery schedules, and stock accuracy
- Track approvals and manage supplier follow-ups
Bulk Materials, Waste & By-Products
- Manage bulk oil sales and waste product planning
- Oversee husk and oil cake management processes
- Coordinate transport sourcing and pricing
- Ensure compliance with risk and environmental policies
Contracts & Purchase Orders
- Manage contract lifecycle including approvals and documentation
- Maintain contract registers and ensure audit readiness
- Oversee purchase order processes and system updates
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
Supplier & Customer Management
- Manage onboarding of new suppliers and customers
- Coordinate SQA and MOC processes
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and communication
- Ensure timely completion of application processes
Team Management
- Supervise Inbound Grain Supply Coordinators
- Allocate tasks and ensure operational efficiency
- Address HR-related issues and support team development
- Ensure compliance with company policies and training requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in procurement or raw materials planning
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and stock planning
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Syspro
