Position Overview
Europcar is seeking a highly organised, customer-focused, and resilient Branch Supervisor to join its Bloemfontein Airport operations. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who thrives in a high-pressure, service-oriented environment.
The Branch Supervisor will oversee daily branch operations, ensuring seamless coordination of staff, vehicles, customer service delivery, compliance, and financial controls. You will play a key leadership role in maintaining operational efficiency while driving sales performance and customer satisfaction.
This position requires strong leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage both people and processes in a dynamic airport environment.
Key Responsibilities
As Branch Supervisor, your duties will include:
Branch Operations Management
- Plan, organise, coordinate, and supervise all branch activities
- Ensure smooth daily operations across front office and car park areas
- Manage shift handovers and daily operational reports
Customer Service Excellence
- Ensure telephones are manned and customer queries are handled efficiently
- Assist with reservations and convert enquiries into confirmed rentals
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery
Financial & Cash Control
- Oversee cash management and banking processes
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal controls
Fleet & Asset Management
- Ensure correct fleet mix based on customer demand
- Safeguard company assets, vehicles, and resources
- Oversee vehicle quality control, safety checks, and readiness
Staff Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise, train, coach, and develop branch staff
- Authorise leave, overtime, and manage timekeeping
- Conduct monthly team meetings and performance discussions
- Promote a positive, motivated, and disciplined team environment
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Manage risk and ensure all compliance reports are completed timeously
- Maintain health and safety standards and submit monthly reports
Administration & Reporting
- Oversee document management and branch records
- Ensure administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time
- Monitor operational performance and report to management
Sales & Growth Focus
- Drive sales opportunities through customer engagement
- Promote upselling and conversion of inquiries into rentals
- Understand market trends and competitor activity
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ supervisory or team leader experience
- Car rental or automotive industry experience (preferred and highly advantageous)
- Valid driver’s licence
- Strong working knowledge of Basic Conditions of Employment Act
- Advanced MS Excel skills
