Position Overview

Auto Pedigree Jet Park is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Manager: Fleet to oversee de-fleet operations within the Gauteng Wholesale division.

This role is responsible for managing fleet movement, coordinating logistics between departments, supervising drivers and stockyard teams, and ensuring smooth operational flow between recon centres, dealerships, and service providers.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with solid fleet management experience, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to operate under pressure in a fast-moving automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Operations Management

  • Oversee all de-fleet operations within the Gauteng Wholesale division
  • Ensure vehicles are de-fleeted efficiently and within required timelines
  • Monitor daily fleet movements between stockyards, recon centres, and dealerships

Logistics & Coordination

  • Coordinate vehicle movement to and from Recon Centres and transport carriers
  • Work closely with Europcar, regional managers, branch managers, and dealers
  • Ensure seamless communication between all fleet stakeholders

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Manage and mentor stockyard staff and drivers
  • Monitor driver performance and daily trip activities
  • Ensure adherence to operational procedures and company standards

Fleet Monitoring & Maintenance

  • Conduct daily inspections and analysis of vehicles, trucks, and yard conditions
  • Ensure proper maintenance of fleet assets
  • Track vehicle condition and movement records accurately

Supplier & Stakeholder Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with de-fleet service providers
  • Ensure service delivery meets operational requirements and timelines
  • Resolve operational issues with external partners where necessary

Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate operational reporting
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Support risk management and operational efficiency initiatives

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • 3–5 years’ experience in fleet or logistics operations
  • At least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role (essential)
  • Valid Code 8 driver’s licence
  • Proficiency in MS Office (intermediate Excel skills required)
  • Knowledge of OHS, risk assessment, and hazard identification (advantageous)
