Position Overview: Artisan Assistant (Engineering Jobs South Africa)
VKB Milling is seeking a motivated Artisan Assistant to join its Christiana Maize Mill. This role is ideal for candidates looking to build a career in engineering, maintenance, and technical support within the agriculture and manufacturing sector.
You will support artisans and maintenance teams in ensuring machinery and equipment operate efficiently in a fast-paced milling environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist artisans with maintenance, repairs, and installation of machinery
- Perform routine equipment inspections and fault reporting
- Support preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Maintain tools, equipment, and clean working areas
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric certificate)
- Relevant technical qualification or N2/N3 Engineering Studies
- Basic knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems
- Previous experience in a milling, agricultural, or manufacturing environment (advantageous)
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required
