Position Overview: Mechanic (Engineering & Mechanical Jobs South Africa)
VKB Mechanization is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join its Villiers team. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in agricultural machinery, mechanical repairs, and equipment maintenance.
You will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical equipment and vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, servicing, and repairs on agricultural equipment and vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical faults and provide effective solutions
- Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime
- Compile quotations based on customer requirements
- Complete job cards and service records according to company procedures
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Process guarantee claims accurately
- Train and mentor junior staff where required
- Promote relevant products and services to customers
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
- Completed N2 – Tractor Mechanic qualification
- 2–5 years’ experience as a mechanic
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Clean criminal record
