SHER Systems Administrator Job Overview

The SHER Systems Administrator is responsible for managing, auditing, and improving SHEQ systems to ensure accurate data, full system utilisation, and compliance across all departments.

This role plays a key part in driving digital SHEQ system implementation (SHEQ-X), incident tracking, audits, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

SHER Systems Management

  • Conduct system data accuracy audits
  • Administer SHERQ system records
  • Drive implementation of SHEQ-X system modules
  • Ensure full system utilisation across departments
  • Track active usage by HODs and staff
  • Identify and report system errors
  • Maintain and update notice boards
  • Review and update policies and procedures
  • Review and update risk assessments
  • Track toolbox talks across the site

Incident & Compliance Management

  • Conduct incident investigations and compile reports
  • Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Ensure timely closure of audit findings
  • Assist with contractor and employee inductions
  • Support permanent contractor audits

Audit Support

  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Participate in SHEQ-X internal audits
  • Compile audit action plans
  • Manage documentation, records, and filing systems
  • Raise non-conformance reports (NCRs) on SHEQ-X

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates should have:

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • National Diploma in Safety Management
  • SAMTRAC qualification (advantageous)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in SHEQ environment
  • Strong computer literacy (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
