Pedros is hiring a Receiving & Dispatch Clerk to join its Distribution Centre team in Durban. This role is essential in ensuring accurate stock movement, efficient warehouse operations, and compliance with strict food safety and logistics standards.

About the Receiving & Dispatch Clerk Role

The Receiving & Dispatch Clerk is responsible for managing all inbound and outbound stock at the sauce plant and distribution centre. The role ensures that goods are received, stored, picked, and dispatched accurately while maintaining strict compliance with safety and food-quality standards.

This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and warehouse operational experience.


Key Responsibilities

Receiving of Stock

  • Check incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documents
  • Inspect goods for damage, expiry dates, and correctness
  • Record and report discrepancies or damaged stock
  • Complete Goods Received Vouchers and system entries accurately

Stock Control & Storage

  • Allocate correct storage locations for incoming goods
  • Ensure FIFO/FEFO principles are followed
  • Maintain traceability of all stock movements
  • Assist with cycle counts and stocktakes

Dispatch Operations

  • Pick and verify outgoing orders accurately
  • Prepare pallets for dispatch (labelling, wrapping, securing)
  • Ensure correct documentation is completed (PODs, delivery notes)
  • Coordinate with transport and logistics teams

Warehouse Compliance & Safety

  • Maintain GMP, hygiene, and food safety standards
  • Ensure warehouse is clean and organised at all times
  • Report safety hazards and equipment issues immediately
  • Follow PPE and operational safety procedures

Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate stock records and system updates
  • Assist with reconciliation of stock discrepancies
  • Support warehouse reporting and documentation processes

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric (required)
  • Minimum 2 years’ warehouse or FMCG experience
  • Experience in receiving or dispatch functions
  • Basic computer literacy or WMS experience (advantageous)
  • Understanding of stock control and warehouse processes
  • Forklift license (advantageous, if required for role duties)
