Main Purpose of the Job

The Junior Planner helps ensure that the right products are available at the right time in stores and online. The role focuses on stock planning, inventory management, reporting, product administration, and coordinating between the warehouse and head office.

Main Responsibilities

1. Inventory and Stock Planning

• Monitor stock levels.
• Ensure stores and online platforms have enough stock.
• Identify shortages or excess stock.
• Place replenishment orders.
• Track purchase orders and deliveries.

2. Reporting and Data Analysis

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Monitor sales performance.
• Track stock levels, margins, and forecasts.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Report problems or unusual stock movements.

3. Merchandise Administration

• Maintain product information in company systems.
• Create and update product listings.
• Update prices, descriptions, and product details.
• Load promotional pricing when required.
• Ensure product information is accurate.

4. Warehouse and Head Office Coordination

• Work closely with warehouse and office teams.
• Reconcile stock deliveries and manifests.
• Conduct stock checks.
• Investigate stock discrepancies.
• Maintain inventory records.

5. General Planning Support

• Support merchandise and planning projects.
• Update spreadsheets and tracking tools.
• Meet deadlines for reports and stock updates.
• Communicate progress to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Matric (Grade 12).
• Diploma or Degree in:
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Business
  • Commerce
  • Planning
  • Forecasting
  • Related field (advantageous)

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in:
  • Inventory Management
  • Stock Planning
  • Forecasting
  • Merchandise Administration
  • Retail Planning

Computer Skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• ERP systems.
• Inventory management systems.
• Shopify, Magento, or Syspro (advantage).
