About the Company

The client is launching a new maintenance services business that serves homeowners, property owners and property management operators. The business is backed by a real estate and property management company that manages apartment communities, townhomes and single-family rentals. That company serves as its anchor client.

Role Overview

The Maintenance Coordinator manages maintenance requests, schedules and dispatches technicians and vendors, and keeps homeowners, residents and property managers informed from start to finish.

You will be the main point of contact for maintenance requests. That means triaging each issue, booking jobs in Jobber, coordinating technicians and vendors, and following up to make sure work is completed correctly and on time. You will also keep work orders updated in the anchor client’s property management systems and support quoting, invoicing and job records.

Because you will speak directly with homeowners, excellent English and a clear, natural accent are essential. The ideal candidate is organised, calm under pressure and confident on the phone. They make every caller feel they are talking to a local, professional team, not a call centre.

Key Responsibilities

Request Intake & Triage

Receive maintenance requests, gather details and photos, and triage by priority and emergencies. Create accurate work orders.

Scheduling & Dispatch

Schedule and dispatch technicians and vendors in Jobber, build efficient schedules and coordinate access. Adjust quickly for delays and emergencies.

Client & Homeowner Communication

Serve as the main point of contact, confirm appointments and send updates. Communicate warmly and professionally, and handle concerns calmly.

Work Order & System Management

Maintain Jobber and the property management systems (AppFolio and Entrata) with current job notes, statuses and organised records.

Quotes, Invoicing & Vendor Coordination

Prepare quotes and estimates in Jobber and send invoices. Coordinate with outside vendors and conduct post-job follow-ups.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Language: Excellent spoken and written English, with a clear and natural accent
  • Experience: 2–5 years in maintenance coordination, property management or field service dispatch
  • Hands-on experience with Jobber (required)
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Basic understanding of common home maintenance issues (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, appliance repairs)
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated remote workspace with a professional headset

Core Values & Mindset

This role suits someone who stays calm when a tenant has a burst pipe or a technician runs late. Strong candidates are organised and think ahead. They follow a job through to completion and communicate with warmth and professionalism. The goal is that every homeowner and resident feels looked after by a local, professional team.

Compensation

  • South Africa: $1,000–$1,400 USD per month
  • Latin America: $1,100–$1,500 USD per month

Pay varies based on skill set and experience level.

Career Growth Path

Maintenance coordination is a good entry point into property operations. With experience, you can progress along this path:

Maintenance Coordinator → Senior Maintenance Coordinator → Maintenance Operations Supervisor → Property Operations Manager → Director of Maintenance Operations

Experience with Jobber, AppFolio and Entrata also adds to your value in property management, facilities and field service roles.

Remote Work & Employment Disclosures

  • This is a remote, full-time role under a contractor model. You will work as an independent contractor, not as a traditional employee, so confirm the contract terms, payment arrangements and any tax responsibilities directly with the employer.
