We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to safely execute maintenance tasks, ensuring long-term plant reliability and contributing to overall equipment effectiveness.

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for:

• Perform mechanical maintenance on plant equipment, specializing in gearboxes, pumps, screens, bearings, and chain drives.
• Schedule and execute maintenance for designated plant areas based on Notifications and Planned Schedules.
• Conduct fault finding during breakdowns, ensuring prompt repairs to minimize downtime.
• Perform detailed daily and weekly inspections of equipment.
• Provide standby coverage for breakdowns after regular hours and weekends; report deviations to the Maintenance Support Mechanical (Foreman).
• Report all unsafe acts and conditions to the Maintenance Support Mechanical.
• Take part in Behaverial Based Safety.
• Utilize SAP to withdraw required spares from stores as needed for tasks.
• Maintain and update accurate Master Data in SAP, following work order processes.

What are we looking for?

• A recognised Trade Test Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter and Turner.
• Possess a Grade 12 qualification with Maths and Science or an N3 Engineering qualification.
• Preferably have 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience in a heavy engineering environment.
• Must have a valid Driving Licence.
