An established company in the steel/manufacturing industry, based in Pretoria West is looking for a Qualified Millwright with at least 3 years post trade test experience

SALARY: ±R30 000 – R40 000 CTC p/m not negotiable

About the job

• The millwright is responsible for installing, transferring, and repairing equipment and machinery.

• Responsibilities include using specialized tools to build and repair machines and setting up machinery based on highly technical instructions and blueprints and occasionally move machines to different lions.

• Enforce Strict company standards and rules- responsible to make sure that company policies and procedures as well as rules are implemented

• Report all incidents and irregularities to the production manager

Qualifying criteria:

• Qualified as a millwright with at least 3 years’ post trade experience

• Previous experience in metal manufacturing industry will be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Participating in the preventative maintenance program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines.

• Build new industrial and/or construction machinery

• Repair broken or defective machine parts, using welding and brazing tools and/or electrical and/or electronic tools.

• Align equipment by using specialized tools (e.g. micrometer, plumb bobs)

• Review and follow highly technical and complex machinery manuals

• Grind and file machinery parts.
• Install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools

• Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts

• Operate machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machineries

• Ensure operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations

• Sharpening and maintaining machine tools

• Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation

• Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on machineries

• Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances

• Maintain a clean and environmentally safe work area

• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Ensure that product quality is up to standard after conducting maintenance or repairs on any production machine.

• Inspect and identify damaged or worn-out threads on machinery and equipment

• Determine the appropriate thread restoration method required to restore threads to their original specification
