Artisan Fitter Mining Services
Introduction
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Artisan Fitter Mining Services, to be based at the Bentley Park near Carletonville, Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Foreman.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Effective supervision of team’s daily tasks
- Plan and allocate tasks to team members in line with procedures and quality standards
- Effectively construct, repair, maintain, trouble shoot and overhaul all types of mechanical equipment related to raise drilling according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications
- Cost containment through effective planning, no rework, availability of spares and equipment
- Adherence to OEM specifications
- Self and team understand and comply with M&RC’s standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
- Proactive risk identification and mitigation, escalate and report
- Effective self and team management and alignment with M&RC’s values and leadership initiatives
- Will be required to work away from home and across borders
Desired Experience & Qualification
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Section 26 Fitter Trade Certificate
- Valid Driver’s license
- Good English communication skills (written and verbal)
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- At least 5 years of mining industry experience (underground and surface)
- At least 5 years of trade experience as an Artisan of which 2 years as a Winder Fitter
- Ability to conduct hydraulic fault finding, know flow and pressure calculation
- Ability to identify and repair bolts, gears, threads, bearings and machine components
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic schematics
