Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking to build a talent pool of Casual Cashiers for their Fountain Est store in Jeffrey’s Bay. This strategic talent pool aims to identify pre-screened individuals with specific skills, qualifications, and experience who can be considered for future opportunities in customer service and cashier roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service Excellence: Provide top-notch service at the point of sale, ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
- Transaction Processing: Handle all customer purchases and payments (cash, card, vouchers) according to company policies with a focus on accuracy and fraud prevention.
- Promotions & Sales: Stay informed about current sales, promotions, and loyalty programs (including Discovery Health Care, eBucks, ABSA Rewards, etc.).
- Security & Compliance: Ensure all transactions and stock handling are performed in line with Dis-Chem’s security policies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- 6 months’ experience in cashier/till operations
- MS Office proficiency
- Numerical skills
- Strong command of the English language
- Willing to work retail hours
Competencies:
- Cash Handling: Expertise in operating cash registers, maintaining cash drawers, and processing payments.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, ensuring zero discrepancies.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to handle customer queries efficiently and resolve issues at the till.

- Reliable transport or residence in close proximity to the store
- Clear credit and criminal record
