Job Overview
Pedros is looking for a Logistics Manager to lead and optimize logistics and supply chain operations at the Polokwane Distribution Centre. The ideal candidate will focus on cost-effective solutions, timely delivery, inventory control, and transportation management.
Key Responsibilities
- Logistics & Supply Chain Management:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to enhance efficiency.
- Oversee the end-to-end supply chain, from inventory management to order fulfillment.
- Optimize stock tracking, demand forecasting, and cycle counts.
- Monitor and control logistics costs (transportation, storage, and inventory expenses).
- Use Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to streamline logistics operations.
- Develop contingency plans to handle supply chain disruptions.
- Transportation & Distribution Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate transportation activities, carrier selection, and route optimization.
- Negotiate favorable shipping terms with suppliers and transporters.
- Ensure quality control and product integrity throughout the supply chain.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the logistics team.
- Oversee task delegation, performance evaluations, and skill development.
Requirements
✅ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Supply Chain Management/Logistics preferred).
✅ Proven experience in supply chain management & logistics.
✅ Strong leadership & team management skills.
✅ Technical expertise in inventory control, transportation management, and distribution.
✅ Experience using logistics software & tracking systems.
✅ Strong numerical & analytical skills.
✅ Familiarity with quality control & assurance processes.
