Job Overview
Afrit Pty Ltd, one of Africa’s most respected trailer manufacturers, is looking for an experienced Millwright to join their team in Pretoria. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial equipment and machinery used in the production process.
If you have a Trade Test in Millwrighting, mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, and experience in an industrial setting, this is a fantastic career opportunity with a leading company in the transport and logistics sector.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Equipment Installation & Maintenance – Install, transfer, and repair machinery according to layout plans.
✔ Technical Fault Finding – Read diagrams and schematics to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
✔ Electrical & Mechanical Repairs – Perform PLC fault finding, MCC circuit inspections, and general electrical repairs.
✔ Preventative Maintenance – Conduct routine servicing, lubrication, and safety checks on all equipment.
✔ Documentation & Reporting – Maintain detailed maintenance logs and reports for all repairs and modifications.
✔ Safety & Compliance – Ensure all work is performed according to workplace safety policies and industry regulations.
✔ Cleaning & Environmental Standards – Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
✔ Installation & Commissioning – Set up new machinery and equipment according to specifications.
Job Requirements
✅ Education & Certification:
✔ Completed Trade Test – Millwright Qualification required.
✔ 2-5 years of relevant industry experience.
✅ Technical Skills:
✔ Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledge.
✔ Ability to inspect, test, and repair MCC circuits and wiring systems.
✔ PLC programming and troubleshooting experience (advantageous).
✔ Proficiency in hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical repairs.
✅ Other Requirements:
✔ Valid driver’s license and own transport – Standby duties may be required.
✔ Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
