Job Description

The Raw Materials Coordinator will provide guidance and oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of the stores controller and their role in the inbound department. This position plays a critical role in managing the supply and receiving of materials for the Boksburg site.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the receiving of packaging and raw materials for the Boksburg site
  • Coach and manage the inbound team, ensuring all materials are received per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Manage the materials call-off from suppliers and external warehouses
  • Ensure proper treatment of dry beans according to intervals
  • Provide monthly feedback to the team on Inbound Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Drive continuous improvement projects within the department
  • Oversee the management of the pallet repair center onsite
  • Manage the returnable flow, ensuring credits with the accounts department and suppliers are followed up
  • Ensure transactions are completed timely for accurate Materials Usage Variance (MUV) reporting
  • Ensure continuous supply of materials to production units to prevent unplanned line stoppages
  • Manage material expiry and reduce write-offs
  • Oversee the supply of fresh vegetables and eliminate waste
  • Conduct stock counts and investigate variances
  • Create and manage internal orders
  • Manage and arrange shunting transport
  • Ensure compliance with SARS Rebate requirements
  • Drive and manage safety & environmental compliance within the responsible area
  • Manage the weighbridge operation and ensure adherence to SOPs
  • Ensure compliance with FSSC 22000, MARSH, FRC, and CSA
  • Manage CHEP equipment

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualifications: Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG
  • Behavioral Competencies:

    • Leadership: Ability to coach, guide the team, and ensure accountability
    • Interpersonal Skills: Agility to react to an ever-changing environment
