Job Summary

As a Senior Investigation Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining security, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, and conducting investigations. You will manage explosives magazine operations, perform detailed risk audits, and collaborate with law enforcement agencies. Minimum Requirements

Candidates applying for this role must meet the following essential qualifications and experience criteria:

  • N Diploma in Security and Risk Management (Essential).

  • Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) Grade A Certification (Essential).

  • Certificate in Investigation (Essential).

  • 3–5 years of experience in a policing environment (Essential).

  • Certificate in Incident Investigation (Essential).

  • Appointment as Deputy Explosives Magazine Master (Essential).

  • Psychometric Assessment (to be conducted by Exxaro).

  • Certificate of Fitness (to be conducted by Exxaro).

  • Knowledge and use of Alcohol Level Test Equipment (blowers & SD400) (Essential).

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Recommended/Desirable).

Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Investigation Officer will be responsible for a wide range of operational, investigative, and compliance-related duties, including:

Investigations & Security Operations

  • Conduct thorough investigations into reported incidents and compile detailed findings.

  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventative measures to minimize risks.

  • Manage explosive storage magazine operations in line with legal standards.

  • Conduct detailed searches, arrests, and case follow-ups in compliance with the Criminal Procedure Act.

Risk & Compliance Management

  • Perform regular risk audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.

  • Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) policies.

  • Maintain administrative accuracy in managing sensitive materials.

Leadership & Team Coordination

  • Supervise and guide investigation teams to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Provide training, mentoring, and skills development support to junior staff.

  • Coordinate with law enforcement agencies to strengthen investigative processes.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders and authorities.

  • Provide expert advice and support to internal teams on investigative and security matters.

  • Foster a culture of safety, integrity, and accountability within the workplace.
