Bidvest Facilities Management (BFM) is seeking a skilled Artisan HVAC Technician to join the BFM Operations 1 Division in Cape Town, Western Cape. This mid-senior role is ideal for a qualified professional with strong technical expertise in air-conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, and water reticulation systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional service that meets both company and client standards.
Key Responsibilities

Preventative & Emergency Maintenance: Perform planned, preventative, and urgent maintenance on HVAC and water reticulation equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Equipment Installation & Commissioning: Install and commission air-conditioning and water systems according to strict specifications and client requirements.

Facility Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to identify areas of risk and recommend corrective actions.

Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure all work aligns with relevant legislation, service-level agreements (SLAs), and company job plans, while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Client Communication: Provide continuous updates to supervisors and clients regarding project status, operational restoration, and any technical challenges.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
To be considered for this HVAC technician role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Education: Grade 12 (Matric) and N3–N6 in Mechanical Engineering.

Trade Certification: Trade Test in HVAC (Air-conditioning & Refrigeration).

Experience: At least 5 years’ proven experience in HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation equipment maintenance, and water reticulation systems, including digital control systems.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (intermediate level).

Licensing: A valid South African driver’s license.

Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.
