Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, and presentation as part of the daily kitchen production process. You will ensure that all meals meet quality standards, are delivered on time, and align with client expectations. In addition, you’ll assist with menu planning, stock control, and ensuring compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Cook at TsAfrika Catering Solutions, your key responsibilities will include:

Working effectively as part of a collaborative kitchen team while maintaining positive interpersonal relationships.

Preparing, cooking, and presenting food to meet company quality standards and client expectations.

Ensuring that correct portion control is maintained at all times.

Delivering food timeously and efficiently during service periods.

Upholding the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in line with Tsebo policies.

Assisting with menu planning, stock management, and inventory control to reduce waste and manage costs effectively.

Staying updated with the latest culinary trends, ingredients, and cooking techniques.

Being flexible to work overtime, weekends, or public holidays when required.
Skills and Competencies
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate the following:

Strong culinary skills with proven ability to prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes.

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team.

Strong customer service orientation and client awareness.

Ability to organize and plan kitchen operations efficiently.

Attention to detail with a passion for quality food presentation.

Flexibility, adaptability, and reliability in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Basic computer literacy will be an advantage.
Minimum Requirements

Matric / Grade 12.

Proven experience as a Cook (1–2 years minimum in a similar role).

A culinary qualification will be highly advantageous.

Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of food quality and hygiene.

Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to the success of the catering team.
