Position Overview

Motus Corporation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Outbound Supervisor to join its Riverhorse branch in Durban.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing outbound warehouse operations, ensuring the accurate and timely dispatch of consignments, supervising warehouse staff, and maintaining operational efficiency across all outbound processes.

This role is ideal for a hands-on logistics professional with strong leadership skills and solid warehouse systems knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Outbound Operations Management

  • Manage the flow of consignments for internal and external customers
  • Ensure all outbound operations meet prescribed performance standards
  • Supervise daily warehouse outbound activities

Picking, Packing & Dispatch Control

  • Supervise the picking process to ensure all orders are completed on time
  • Verify accuracy of consignments before packing and dispatch
  • Ensure all shipments are packed and ready within required timeframes

Team Supervision & Leadership

  • Lead and manage warehouse staff effectively
  • Assign tasks, set objectives, and monitor performance
  • Ensure staff discipline, productivity, and well-being

Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure all activities comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Track and manage non-conformance reports
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and warehouse procedures

Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth information flow
  • Manage driver compliance and ensure proper conduct standards
  • Handle outbound-related queries and operational issues

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Analyse and implement new warehouse systems and procedures
  • Monitor operational efficiency and recommend improvements
  • Support branch operational planning and reporting

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) – mandatory
  • Warehouse or logistics-related courses (advantageous)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehousing
  • Proven supervisory experience in a warehouse environment
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems
  • Strong understanding of SOPs and logistics processes
  • Computer literate (MS Office and warehouse systems)
  • Clean criminal record
