Position Overview

Faircape Group is looking for compassionate and dedicated Carers to join their healthcare team at Heritage Manor and Bridgewater Manor in Somerset West.

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about caregiving and improving the quality of life for elderly residents and patients requiring specialised care. You will be responsible for providing daily support, ensuring comfort, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment.


Key Responsibilities

Personal Care & Daily Living Support

  • Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Support personal hygiene and overall well-being
  • Assist residents during meals and feeding where required

Emotional Support & Companionship

  • Provide companionship and emotional care to residents
  • Accompany residents on walks and daily activities
  • Engage residents in social and recreational activities

Patient Monitoring & Reporting

  • Observe and report any changes in residents’ health or behaviour
  • Maintain accurate records using the Healthware electronic system
  • Communicate concerns to senior staff promptly

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow infection control and health & safety procedures
  • Participate in night shift monitoring (camera watch duties)
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment at all times

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Carer or similar role (advantageous)
  • Carer training from a recognised institution (preferred)
  • SETA accreditation (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of elderly care including:
    • Dementia care
    • Palliative care
    • Rehabilitation care
  • Clear health, criminal, and credit record
  • Contactable references (mandatory)

Working Hours & Benefits

  • Shifts: 16.25 shifts per month
  • Day Shift: 07:00 – 19:00
  • Night Shift: 19:00 – 07:00 (includes night shift allowance)
