Position Overview: Quality Control Officer – VKB Milling (Lydenburg)
VKB Milling is seeking a Quality Control Officer to support the Quality Control Manager at its Lydenburg maize mill.
This role is responsible for ensuring that all maize handling, processing, and storage processes meet strict quality and food safety standards to maintain product excellence and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Quality Control Manager with daily QA operations
- Ensure continuous compliance with food safety standards
- Monitor internal processes to maintain product quality
- Liaise with internal departments on food safety and quality matters
- Review and distribute quality assurance documentation and specifications
- Keep updated with legislation changes and implement updates where required
- Conduct inspections of products, equipment, and machinery
- Accept or reject products based on quality assessments
- Ensure adherence to recipe and production guidelines
- Support implementation of Occupational Health and Safety standards
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification
- Proven experience in a similar quality control or food safety role
- Computer literate (MS Office package)
- Background in food safety or quality assurance
