Position Overview: Shop Assistant (3-Month Contract)
Signature Cosmetics is hiring a Shop Assistant for its East Rand Mall store in Boksburg.
This role is ideal for a customer-focused individual who enjoys retail, sales, and working in a fast-paced beauty environment. You will be responsible for assisting customers, driving sales, and maintaining excellent store standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a welcoming and personalised customer experience
- Support achievement of store sales targets
- Promote product knowledge and drive upselling and link-selling
- Participate in daily team meetings and store floor walks
- Assist with stock takes, cycle counts, and stock control
- Ensure accurate stock rotation (FIFO system)
- Maintain clean, organised, and fully replenished shelves
- Follow merchandising and visual display standards
- Handle POS transactions, cash handling, and banking procedures
- Promote loyalty programmes and store promotions
- Assist customers with product recommendations and makeovers
- Support marketing activities and in-store campaigns
- Report stock issues, low stock, and replenishment needs
- Assist in training and onboarding of new staff
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
- At least 1 year retail experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Advantageous Skills
- Experience in beauty, skincare, or fragrance retail
- Point of Sale (POS) experience
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel & Email)
