About the Sales Associate Role

The Sales Associate is responsible for converting showroom visits into sales through effective customer engagement, product demonstrations, and accurate order processing.

This role supports showroom performance by delivering excellent customer service and maintaining operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Execution & Conversion

  • Engage walk-in customers and identify their needs
  • Demonstrate and promote products effectively
  • Convert interactions into sales
  • Achieve personal sales targets
  • Support account openings and order processing

Customer Experience

  • Deliver a professional and positive customer journey
  • Guide customers through purchasing decisions
  • Resolve basic queries and escalate complex issues
  • Build trust through ethical selling

Product Knowledge

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and promotions
  • Ensure accurate pricing and quoting
  • Stay informed on new campaigns and catalogue updates

Administration & Orders

  • Capture customer orders, payments, refunds, and credits
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records
  • Support reporting and audit requirements

Stock & Store Standards

  • Assist with stock handling and replenishment
  • Maintain clean and organised showroom standards
  • Prevent stock damage and report discrepancies

Compliance & Risk

  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Adhere to cash handling processes
  • Escalate risks or non-compliance issues

Team Support

  • Work collaboratively with staff
  • Support promotions and campaigns
  • Work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric (required)
  • At least 1 year retail or sales experience
  • Customer-facing sales experience
  • Availability for shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Homeware retail experience (advantageous)
  • Clear credit and criminal record
