Key Responsibilities of the Fund & Investment Accountant

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing a variety of accounting and regulatory functions essential to fund management and investment oversight. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate general ledger records

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and annual financial statements

  • Completing monthly cash flow statements and bank reconciliations

  • Preparing and submitting financial regulatory reports, including:

    • SARB reports

    • C48 reports to FSCA

    • B16 submissions

    • Regulation 28 compliance reports

  • Reconciling investment trial balances and daily fund transactions

  • Managing monthly PAYE submissions to SARS

  • Performing asset and liability matching

  • Responding to audit requests and ensuring implementation of audit recommendations

You will also be expected to comply fully with the Pension Fund Act, FSCA regulations, and internal governance policies.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) with Accounting as a major

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ fund and investment accounting experience

  • A total of 5 to 7 years working in a financial services or employee benefits environment
