About the Role
Alexander Forbes is looking for a dynamic Financial Wellbeing Consultant to join our Individual Clients Consulting division.
This client-facing and contact-centre hybrid role focuses on growing our pre-retirement and accumulation client base drawn from our corporate membership network.
You will provide trusted financial advice, facilitate solutions, and strengthen key corporate relationships—while driving new business opportunities and supporting broader Financial Planning Consultant (FPC) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Advice

Deliver face-to-face worksite consultations to corporate clients signed up for our enhanced Retirement Benefit Counselling (eRBC) service.

Provide telephonic support through the MyMoneyMatters contact centre—handling inbound queries and conducting outbound calls to retirees, leavers, and new joiners.

Guide members through the six-step financial-planning process, including risk profiling, written recommendations, and portfolio performance reviews.

Educate clients on fundamental investment principles such as risk vs. reward, market trends, and performance benchmarks (local and offshore).

Assist with implementation of financial solutions—e.g., remaining paid-up in a fund or selecting default solutions.
Sales & Business Development

Execute targeted sales campaigns, projects, and initiatives, capturing all feedback and results in the CRM system.

Achieve a high conversion rate of RBC and other leads into new client acquisition through product consolidation, asset retention, and increased contributions.

Source and secure new business opportunities within assigned corporate accounts.
Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong partnerships with HR and other key personnel in corporate client accounts.

Collaborate with Financial Planning Consultants to design and execute strategies that generate business opportunities and enhance member engagement.

Contribute to worksite marketing and financial-awareness programmes as required.
Qualifications & Experience

Matric (Grade 12) – essential
-
BCom degree with majors in Financial Management, Financial Planning, Investments, or Marketing – essential

Regulatory Examination 5 (RE5) – essential

Previous experience in financial planning, retirement counselling, or investment consulting will be a strong advantage.

Proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office is preferred.
Skills & Competencies

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for both face-to-face and virtual interactions.

Proven ability to convert leads into sales while maintaining high ethical standards.

Solid understanding of investment products, retirement funds, and market dynamics.

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to resolve client queries quickly and professionally.
